Keynote Speaker Announced

Our Hotel Data Conference keynote speaker for this year’s conference is James Kane, a leading loyalty researcher. He will give the keynote address during lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 7 in Nashville, Tennessee.

As a behavioral scientist and consultant, Kane has worked with many industries, advising and training small companies, nonprofits, professional associations and Global 1000 corporations. Kane is one of the most quoted and profiled authorities on loyalty. He has been recognized in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, TIME Magazine, BBC, and more. He is also a frequent guest on CNN, CNBC, and FOX Business. Kane has a degree from the University of Notre Dame and has served as a guest instructor at Harvard University and The Pennsylvania State University.

Kane publishes original and collaborative research, studying loyalty, cooperation, and human relationships. Topics of his research projects over a span of 40 years include:

  • What the T.V. show Jeopardy tells us about risk aversion in women and how their behavior differs from men on the show
  • Why cooperating doesn’t come naturally for humans
  • Why some relationships last and others don’t

Kane’s unique speaking style has captivated audiences of all kinds. Take it from Kane himself:

“Anyone who has heard me speak knows the importance I put on understanding the things people truly care about in order to find some common connection. The easiest way to do that is to share first. Let people know what you care about and allow them to discover the similarities you may share with them, whether it is interests, hobbies, favorite products, artists, food, sports teams, places you have been, or places you hope to visit one day.”

Loyalty will be a hot topic at Hotel Data Conference 2016, and there is no one better to give the HDC keynote than James Kane.
